Welcome to Online Free PHP Course.. We will be using Technoweb world for this course. I will be posting lectures and assignments in http://www.technowebworld.com. You will turn in assignments and participate in discussions within Technowebworld.
Let me begin by introducing myself and then I will review some course requirements. My name is Aryan Kapil and I can be reached by email at info@technowebworld.com .

This course is twelve weeks long and moves at a fast pace. I guarantee there are several assignments for you to be doing every week. I suggest you make it a habit of logging in a minimum of thrice per week to check the class discussion board and your e-mail messages. I frequently post group questions and answers to the class discussion board instead of sending an email to individuals. Of course, I will also answer individual questions that may not pertain to the entire class. Additionally, the class discussion board will contain messages about the scheduling of any synchronous assignments (e.g., chat rooms, whiteboard, etc.).
The remainder of this welcome letter describes important expectations and protocols that will help you to navigate the course, hand-in assignments in the proper format, and use the course management software more effectively.
SENDING EMAIL:
Email Subject Line: Put a descriptive subject line in every e-mail that you send me. For example, if you have a question you might type "Question about Module 1 Assignments." In this way, I can easily track your emails and return to them when needed.
File Naming Convention: Whenever you hand in an assignment your FILENAME needs to include your last name, the module, and a brief descriptor (e.g., Doe02Reflection.doc). This example would indicate that your last name is Doe and you are handing in an assignment called "Reflection Paper." NOTE: The most important part of this convention is including your LAST NAME. Also, be sure to put your name and the assignment title on every page of any documents you attach to email. If you do not follow this convention, I will return it to you and ask you to send it again.
The reason for requiring your last name is that it is the easiest way for me to keep track of homework assignments and grading. Can you imagine what happens when students in all of my online classes send in a paper called "Paper1.doc?" What happens is that if I'm extremely busy (which is most of the time) as I save these papers to my homework correction folder, one will overwrite another. So PLEASE always include your last name in the filename.
Need a Quick Answer? If you require a quick response to a question, add a word like "HELP" or "NEED INFO ASAP" in the subject line of your email. This will alert me to read it as soon as possible. I will usually respond to e-mails within 48 hours, not including weekends, after their receipt.
Sending E-Mail Attachments : When you are sending documents to me, I prefer them in Microsoft Word format . If you are using a MAC, please indicate that to me in the body of your email but also include a ".doc" file extension on the file name. If you are not using Microsoft Word as your word-processing application, please save your document in either WORD format or RTF format . No other formats are acceptable!
If you are not using Microsoft Word, to save in RTF format you select the SAVE AS option in your word processor. Then change the FILE TYPE to RTF. If this is problematic please let me know as soon as possible. Remember to follow the file naming convention named above with all attachments!
I encourage you to contact me at any time if you have questions about the course. I know that we have a variety of technological levels in this class. Some of you have never used Technoweb world before and others have already developed some course materials in Technoweb world. Please ask as many questions as you need. There are no stupid questions. My goal is for everyone to feel comfortable in the environment and to have fun with this course, as well as learn specific knowledge and skills.
